Karolina’s father medical condition. Leonid was recently diagnosed with cancer of the stomach, and after a period of Chemotherapy he is scheduled for surgery on the 2nd of July, to completely remove his stomach. As you can imagine, this is a complicated and life-altering procedure, especially as he is not a healthy man to begin with.
Please pray with us, for the Lord’s mercy and blessing over Leonid and Lilia (Karolina’s parents), and for the surgery to go as smoothly and successfully as possible, and that the recovery and changes to his life would be as bearable as possible. Leonid has been crippled for many years already and is also diagnosed with heart problems, and this procedure is very traumatic for him.
Leonid was the firstborn of a very devout Ukrainian Baptist family, he grew up in the Church and had to endure much hardships for the Lord, under Communist Soviet Union, and together with Lilia, his Finnish wife, they were among the first to leave the USSR, as soon as the Iron Curtain was lifted in the early 90’s, when they immigrated to Finland from the then still Communist Estonia.
Leonid is now 71 years old, and is a loving and supportive grandfather to our four boys, whom we sincerely want to be around for many more years.
