Victorian Religious Freedom Under Threat

A review of the exceptions and exemptions in Victoria’s Equal Opportunity Act is currently underway…

The parliament’s Scrutiny of Acts and Regulations Committee is examining the Act to see if the exceptions comply with Victoria’s Charter of Human Rights and Responsibilities.

Of particular concern are the religious exceptions in Sections 75-77.

SUBMISSIONS are due by July 10, 2009.

FamilyVoice Australia has organised a Special Briefing on possible changes to the Victorian Equal Opportunity Act. The Briefing will cover the threats to religious freedom that this current review could impose.
The Briefing will look at the religious exceptions in the Act.
