Hello again and shalom from Israel.
The last weeks seem to be a never ending saga, with one event following another in quick succession. We hardly finish one saga and the next one is already on the doorstep. Within one short week, three leading brothers in Israel died, and two weddings took place, so that believers were running up and down the country from funeral to funeral and wedding to wedding, and sometimes we were meeting people we had not seen for years, on a daily basis. In spite of the many problems, it proved that we were really one big family supporting each other in joy and in sorrow. It was interesting to see how both Jews and Arabs were present at all these events, rejoicing or sorrowing together. One of which was the wedding of Carlos and Tanya, with whom we came to Britain for the CFI conference last year. If you have never seen Arabs rejoicing, and Jews rejoicing with them, you haven’t lived yet! I felt worn out just from watching them . Continue reading »

Shalom again to all our friends in every part of the globe,
This has been again a very packed month with events almost colliding with one another, but because a number of you have written to ask about the eye operation, we’ll start with that. It seems to have been a success, and I now have a stint in both eyes, and no more pressure in either of them. The sight is slowly normalizing in my left eye, though still somewhat blurred, but I am improving all the time. The right eye was badly damaged two years ago during a cataract operation, so I am thankful that the left eye is doing that well. I thank all of you who were praying for me. Continue reading »

Hello again to all our friends and Shalom from Israel!
This past month we had had a house full of visitors, among them a Jewish believer from Kenya, Ann Lipson, who has spent years in Africa in the service of the King, and Morris Alex, a pastor from Australia, who came to serve as a volunteer in various places in Israel, and helped also with some painting and decorating in our home and for another sister here in Nahariya, as well as in Carmiel. Thank you Morris, and both Ann and Morris enriched our lives by sharing theirs! We also had a visit from Derek and Gail Rous of PFI, and Derek White from CFI. We should not forget to mention that Rabbi Joseph from Los Angeles was frequently visiting us over a period of about three weeks, and added to our colourful variety of guests. We enjoyed having all these dear people and the input they gave us. But now the visitors have all gone and we have a few days before the next ones arrive! Continue reading »

Hi Everybody!
If I have been out of touch with you, it is because I have just returned from a 19 day trip to England where a team of five Israelis, comprising three Arabs, the Russian Jewish fiancée of one of them, and I were invited to speak at a conference arranged by CFI England. Continue reading »

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Ephesians 6 :12
Dear Friends,
How quickly the month flies. Sometimes it seems as though it were only yesterday that we were writing our last report, and yet the month has rolled by. The weather is increasingly hotter and damper, and it seems to us that even in the spiritual realm things are still very hot! We are redoubtably engaged in a battle against our unseen but ever present enemy. If he can’t bring us down, he will touch our closest friends, and we suffer with them, as we see their battles and the effect it has on them. Keep praying for the situation here, that God will intervene and interpose His might hand. Continue reading »

Shalom again from Israel..
We greet you again from a very warm and sunny Israel. The last two months have been very hectic, and the Passover Seder and visit to Bethlehem are now memories, but we continue to be very busy. Five days after the visit to Bethlehem, we received the joyful news that *ABDM had come to faith and made a commitment to Jesus. This is a big step for a Moslem, and we need to pray for him as he lives in a spiritual desert with no-one to help him. He has to rely on visits from Pastor Najeeb and teaching books. Yet we believe that God has his hand on this young man. The following is a translation of a letter he sent me on the day he made his decision to follw Jesus. Continue reading »

There are forces at work within the Roman Catholic Church that are tired of being nice and ecumenical. The need for outward shows of brotherhood like the ECT (Evangelicals and Catholics Together) document is a thing of the past. They are beginning to show their true colors. The bait is no longer sweet and the pendulum has swung in the opposite direction.
The change in strategy has been made possible by a new popularity for things Catholic that began with the opening of Mel Gibson’s film “The Passion of the Christ.” Best-selling Catholic books in Evangelical bookstores by Catholic cross-over authors such as Brennan Manning and Peter Kreeft gave Rome another big boost. Dear Friends,
Another month has flown by with a thousand tasks and little time to do them! Never the less, we press on, for the time is short.
It is now three months since Albert died, and the meetings have continued and even grown, with new people coming. Last but one meeting was a concert of Russian, Israeli, classical, messianic and Yiddish music. Our place was packed to capacity as the Jewish music professor from Moscow, recounting his own experience of persecution, urged the people to make serious choices, and count the cost of following Yeshua. A number of non-believing Jews were present, and it was a blessed time. Last week saw our teacher return after an absence of nearly 5 months! His slot was filled by a number of speakers, mainly Arabs, who were happy to fill the gap! It was a great joy to see M. again, though naturally many are still missing Albert. Continue reading »

Dear Friends of CJF Ministry,
Time to write another update on the happenings in the North.
We have had, as usual, a very busy month, filled with all the usual work and lots of visitors from abroad, who use our home as a base for their own outreach and visits. They stay for anything from three days to three weeks, not only encouraging the locals, but also sometimes themselves observing and learning. Continue reading »

Dear Friends of CJF Ministries,
In my last letter on 9 th January, I wrote, “We do not know what will be with Albert, only that it is God’s hands. Pray that we may have patience, and that eternal good for the salvation of souls may come out of this situation”. Two days after I wrote these words, my beloved Albert passed into the presence of the Lord, whom he had loved and served for about 50 years. Humanly speaking, we were all heart-broken that he should die following a successful operation where the after treatment went so desperately wrong. However, God makes no mistakes, and we must believe that this is for a reason, if we don’t see it right now. Continue reading »

Exactly what should I write when my beloved has lain for over two months in Hospital, most of the time in intensive care, and the last few weeks practically unconscious?
Yes, dear friends, these have been perhaps the most difficult and intensive months that we have lived through, coming on the heels of a horrendous rocket war, and before we had time to recover, this additional blow. Albert is very sick, still on life support, and with failing kidneys. Each visit, with the journey to Haifa, takes about 4 hours minimum, and in between I try to keep up with all the financial side of the work, and meetings, and visits from some of our contacts and fellow believers who have been very supportive, as well as correspondence, post and the usual household affairs. And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that ye be not troubled….but the end is not yet. Matth.24v6
