The coming of Brother Geoff Toole this April 14-15 was a blessing. We visited the four sick children at their home. (Rialyn Cali, Romar Ibanez, Shyrose Baladbad, Jenna rose Romero). They are on our main concern, Bro. Geoff pray for them and brought encouraging words to their family. He also lead us a Bible Seminar. The attendance were more than 35

Moriel Missions Uganda Report

There is a lot I could say about our trip to Uganda, but to get a picture of what went on there I will try and present the good, the bad and the ugly. Not that this is a criticism of Uganda or Ugandan people, it is however a picture that you will find in most East Africa or third world countries. A picture of tyrants, victims, heroic deeds, heroes and a system that seems impossible to break unless Jesus comes quickly. Continue reading

Phillippine Garbage Dump Children January 2013

Dear Bro. Jacob and Bro. David,

Grace be to you and peace from the Lord Jesus Christ.

The parents of our dump children were glad because they had known the physical condition of their children when Bro. Jacob Prasch and Dr. Hong Jie conduct a medical mission last month of this year. Since then, we gave more attention to 3 kids who have a heart problem and to one who have a cleft lip palate. We continue assisting and helping them,we regularly buy the maintenance medicine of Romar and Shy Rose prescribed by cardiologist. About Jenna Rose,a malnourished child,we regularly buy her personal vitamin and milk. The cardiologist recommended a 3D Echocardiogram for Jenna Rose, that’s why we brought her to Philippine Heart Center, Quezon City. and she was given a Doctor’s appointment on February 15. A Historical Analysis of Mysticism: Part I

Catholic and Buddhist Spirituality in the Context of the 12th and 13th Centuries

by Scott Noble (waterpark777@yahoo.com)

Every Christian knows that prayer is an important part of the Christian walk.  But, not all Christians have experienced a fulfilling prayer life.  Whether it be a lack of time, a wandering mind, or other obstacles, many Christians are sustained on just the “minimum” amount of prayer.  Addressing this need, but not in a biblical way, are the Catholic mystics now promoted by the emergent church and others even within “Bible-believing” churches.  Counterfeit spirituality is not a new thing.  Jesus said, “…the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth…” (John 4:23).  Anything that offers something “exciting” and “innovative,” at the expense of truth is not something that leads to being a “true worshipper.”  Continue reading

Dear friends and Family

Greetings in Jesus.
DSCF4073
Its been a great week and so much being done to get the place up to scratch.
First of all the water situation was sorted out with the purchase of a 5000 liter tank and delivery of 5000 liter’s of clean water.
Secondly we were able to hire an earth mover and today (Friday began clearing the site for building.
It has been a wonderful week of people giving sacrificially. I have an estimated budget of $40,000 to raise to complete the work. We will build with quality reclaimed materials to cut cost and also use a steel framed shell to take the load bearing as this seems cost affective. Praise god with a couple of days of praying 50% of the budget came in for which we are truly thankful. We are looking forward to see how the Lord brings in the rest and we are confident in Him the all sufficient one. Continue reading

Moriel Thailand Mission Report January 2013

Dear believers in grace,
5Merry Incarnation Day!  Though we are “prison singers,” (behind a few bars and missing the key) we went out caroling twice last week.  On Wednesday a group from Youth for Christ came here and we went to two different houses (they are actually pretty good singers).  Then, on Saturday we took Khae’s English/Bible class out to sing at five more houses.  Most of these houses were very surprised to see us.  We sang songs, gave them a tin of cookies, shared a short message and gave them gospel tracts.  This is a great opportunity at Christmas time to share the gospel.
In our Saturday class, one of the boys wears an idol necklace and says he doesn’t believe in God.  Last week I asked him if he believed the pen he was holding had a maker.  He said yes.  Then, I told him that we don’t see the maker of the pen, but that the pen is the evidence that there is a maker.  Then, I asked him which is more complex- the pen or the human body.  Obviously the human body is.  And, I asked him which is more complex- an airplane, a computer, or a tree.  He said an airplane.  I asked him, “do we have factories for making airplanes and computers?”   He said, “yes.”  “Do we have factories for making trees?”  He said “no.”
This is beyond human capability.  Trees are “high tech,” whereas computers and airplanes are “low tech” in comparison.  It’s a blessing to have these students come study with us.  Normally we teach the students English and Bible for two hours.  Recently we decided to expand the program to include a Christian movie and lunch.  So, the students are excited about that, and they get more gospel input through the movie.
1One of the girls in this class has been coming with us to church also.  We went to her house caroling also.  Her parents died not long ago and she now lives with her Aunt and Uncle.  Please pray for her Aunt and Uncle, too as they are facing a big financial debt.  But, they seemed open to the gospel when we went caroling there.
Also, we went to a wheelchair distribution last week and saw two of my former students from the junior high school.  We gave them some tracts and talked with them about the gospel some more, and made some balloons for them, too.
The Women’s prison has recently moved.  Here are some pictures of the old prison with the guards and prisoners getting ready to leave.  Because of this move we have not been there to teach for a few weeks now, but hope to go to start up at their new location in January.
Attached here is a paper I wrote about mysticism in the 12th and 13th centuries and how these ideas are still affecting people today.
In Christ,
Scott.
