Discernment issues concerning news possibly relating to prophecy and Israel

Another Diaspora of the Jews?

Question:   “It seems from the prophets that the Jewish people will go into exile again just before the Messiah returns; Zechariah 14.”

Answer:  Blessings from the Philippines. No, chapters 12′ 13, and 14 are sequential. Remember, there is no chapter division in the original Hebrew canon. Those three verses read in context are a recap reference to the events of chapter 12 in order to link the Armageddon and Valley of Jehoshaphat events of chapter 12 with the parousia events of chapter 13 and then with the establishment of the millennial kingdom in chapter 14.
All prior to the parousia in Zechariah however have ‘peshet’ partial fulfillments at previous times in Israel’s history which are alluded to or mention in the text of Zechariah. These peshet events are replayed and totally fulfilled by the corresponding ‘pesher’ events in what Zechariah predicts. As we have noted repeatedly over the years in multiple recordings and in the books (Grain for the Famine, Dilemma of Laodicea, Shadows of The Beast) that this is a standard scriptural eschatological motif viewed hermeneuticly. I trust this helps.

Fifty thousand Muslims to have a national prayer gathering at the U.S Capitol Building

On September. 25th  Muslims will have a national prayer gathering on the west front of the U.S. Capitol Building.  They are expecting at least 50,000 to attend from mosques all across America. The gathering will take place by the site where U.S. Presidents have been inaugurated since 1981.  The organizers say that it was Obama’s inauguration speech in January and his speech broadcast from Egypt in June that gave them the idea for this prayer gathering on Capitol Hill. The theme of the event is “Our time has come.” Continue reading

Israel, Apostasy, World Government & The Return Of Jesus Christ

by Paul McGuire

The Bible says, “My people perish for lack of knowledge!” In America and other countries, our nations are literally being transformed into totalitarian states where we are losing our religious and personal freedoms. Pastors who teach the Bible and Bible believing Christians are going to be increasingly persecuted, imprisoned and fined. Under the new constitutions and legal interpretations that are being put in place, we are losing our freedom of religion, freedom of speech and freedom of the press. The day has already come where pastors who are faithful to teach the entire Bible are being fined and arrested. Continue reading

If I Were Prime Minister, I’d Rebuild the Temple

Apr 20, 2009 21:32 | Updated Apr 20, 2009 22:45
By Matthew Wagner

Moshe Feiglin, head of Manhigut Yehudit (Jewish Leadership Movement) said last week that if he was elected prime minister, he would try to rebuild the destroyed Temple in Jerusalem.

“I don’t know if I will have the merit of doing something that is the aspiration of every Jew,” said Feiglin. “But if I become prime minister I will take away control over the Temple Mount from the Wakf [the Islamic trust] and reinstate Jewish sovereignty over the entire mount and, hopefully, rebuild the Temple.” Continue reading

Omega Times

The Omega Times was the publication of my late friend, New Zealand Evangelist Barry Smith, who went to be with The Lord after preaching his last sermon at an outreach organized by a Moriel affiliated congregation in Cheshire in The North of England. Barry was a dynamic evangelist whom The Lord used greatly as a missionary in The Mission Field of The South Pacific, and as an evangelist through whom many came to faith particularly in New Zealand, Australia, and South Africa. Barry, his wife May, and their son Andrew who is in music ministry, served The Lord faithfully. Continue reading

What’s In A Name?

by Ronnie Cohen

Where did the name, “Palestine” come from? It’s never been the name of self governed independent nation with any set international boundaries. Actually it’s a geographical term to identify an area, during certain historical periods, between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean coast. The name derives from the Hebrew term Plesheth which means “rolling over” or “migration”. Now we have, what is in English translation, “Philistine”. The Philistines were a sea-going people originating from the Aegean islands. The Philistines were neither Semitic nor Arabs but from Greek origins. In the 12th century BC they attempted to invade Egypt but were defeated by the forces of Rameses III and therefore settled along the southern coast of Israel where they established five major cities ( Ashdod , Ashkalon, Gaza , Ekron and Gath ). Yes, these were the very same Philistines who gave grief to the Jewish nation all through the periods of Biblical history as mentioned in the books of “Joshua” and “I, II Samuel”. There stay in the land was not long – eventually they were conquered by the Persians and Greeks and then the southern coastline was called by the Greeks “Palaestina”. Continue reading

Rabbis Aim to Renew Animal Sacrifices

by Associated Press
Feb. 28, 2007

A fringe group of extremist rabbis wants to resume the biblical practice of animal sacrifice at Jerusalem’s Temple Mount, members said Wednesday, defying centuries of religious bans and triggering a stiff protest from a Muslim leader.

The group, called the “Re-established Sanhedrin” after the Temple-era religious high court, has decided to buy some sheep and try to find one that is ritually perfect for sacrifice, with an eye toward resuming the practice. Continue reading

Photo of poster

(IsraelNN.com) In the upcoming days, billboards all over Jerusalem will be plastered with a new poster on the eve of U.S. President Bush’s visit to Israel. Pictured in the poster is a gigantic Bible, towering over the walls of the Old City.

The caption says: “Bush, read your Bible. God gave Israel to the Jews.”

The Am K’Lavee organization has made available a hi-rez version of the poster for download.

Tzvi Fishman, of the Am K’Lavee organization, and an Arutz 7 blogger, says “The poster is designed to refocus Israel’s opposition to further withdrawals back to our Divine claim to the Land of Israel, as documented again and again in the Bible.” Continue reading

God’s Hand for a Modern Israel

Modern Israeli history really begins with God’s covenant with Abraham as mentioned in Genesis 12:1-3. Then, of course, there’s the “Land Deed” which, unfortunately today, wouldn’t mean much in the world court at The Hague or the United Nations, “And I will establish my covenant between me and you and your decendants after you in their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and your decendants after you. Also I give to you and your decendants after you the land in which you are a strnger, all the land of Canaan, as an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.” Genesis 17:7,8. We can go on forever with the history of the Jewish people in the Land of Israel but let’s focus more on the “Modern, Modern Israel.” Continue reading

How It Could Happen

This one defies belief. The Jerusalem Post reports on the former Grand Mufti of Jerusalem’s denial that there was ever a Jewish temple on the Temple Mount. The whole thing is a total invention, he claims, and the Western Wall was originally part of an ancient mosque. Thus, Jews have no history on the Temple Mount and have no right even to pray there. That a senior Muslim cleric can so blatantly ignore the archaeological data, as well as the many historical documents attesting to the Jewish temple, is incredible. His dismissal of literally tonnes of archaeological evidence would make even a biblical archaeology minimalist break out in a cold sweat. Continue reading

Biblical Theology and the Modern State of Israel

:”(The original version of this paper was presented to a joint session of the Biblical Theology/Religion, Culture and Communication/Ethics and Social Theology groups on 5 July 2007 during the annual Tyndale Fellowship Study Groups Conference, Cambridge. Several useful comments made during the ensuing discussion are reflected here.)”: If someone pressed us to identify a major conflict zone in the world today, the Middle East would likely top the list. The Israeli-Palestinian conflict especially has been a leading actor on the geopolitical stage for years, with rival powers and a cacophony of competing voices making this one of today’s bitterest conflicts. Jews and Palestinians vie for power, land, and even the right to exist, while two religions make rival claims to the land, with Christians siding with one or other and shouting from the sidelines. Moreover, strategic geographical and geopolitical considerations (much like during Old Testament times) cause outsiders to intervene and exacerbate the crisis. Add to this rival political and religio-political ideologies played out through the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, whether Zionist, Palestinian, or pan-Arab nationalisms, Marxist anti-imperialism, the view of Israel as a democratic oasis within an authoritarian desert, or Islamic anger at Israel’s very existence on Muslim land. :”(Also known as a waqf, or bequest from Allah.)”: In short, the conflict is bitter and immensely complex, and one could be forgiven for gloomily giving up and moving on. God’s Judgment on the United States

Posted: Saturday, May 12, 2007

If you are a student of God’s Word you know that Israel is the center of His Word in Prophecy, and when God says in reference to Israel the Apple of His Eye in Gen 12:3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. God is not kidding or joking around, He is very serious. In fact, I have never read anywhere in His Word where He said something that He didn’t really mean. And just for your information Israel is the apple of God’s eye now and always will be. And if you are a gentile and want to make it to heaven you will have to be grafted into the natural roots and the promises given to Israel by God’s Grace through faith in your acceptance of the Jewish Messiah, the Bible you read is a Jewish Book and your way to heaven is through Yeshua the Jewish Messiah. Many have been lied to, but there is no other Gospel that will secure your soul in a relationship with God for eternity, and if you have accepted any form of replacement theology it will send you directly to hell. The Eve of Destruction?

Current Middle East Developments and Bible Prophecy

The Middle East is in turmoil.  War has erupted across the border of Israel and Lebanon while the killing in Iraq brings in a daily toll of victims. As the region supplies most of the world’s oil, what happens there is of vital importance to the rest of the world. Behind the scenes there is a momentous conflict taking place between Iran and its allies and the United States and its allies. Continue reading

The “Birth Pangs” Intensify

by Jan Markel

Most people know that birth pangs intensify and become more frequent as the baby is about to be born. Some translations call this “the beginning of sorrows.” And that is exactly what is happening around the world. News’ stories suggest Hurricane Katrina was “a once in a lifetime” event. How many times in the last five years have we heard that something, usually a disaster, was “of Biblical proportions? Check out my “Signs in Nature” category to verify this, at the Web site.
