We are adding this to our Links page but thought to post it here as well. They have a web page called “Ministry Watch” which is an excellent resource for finding out the financial condition of many ministries. On the front page is a list of “30 Shining Light Ministries” who do the best job of getting as close to 100% of donations out to the field, and “30 Donor Alert Ministries” which is a kind of financial hall of shame. They provide this report which briefly states the problem with each “winner”.

A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh. â Luke 6:45
There seems to be a growing trend in the Church for the clergy to feed the sensual appetite through their sermons. What we are dealing with are pastors who have dirty minds and potty mouths. The word that best describes them is profane.
The following definition of profane is from the Merriam Webster dictionary:
1: to treat (something sacred) with abuse, irreverence, or contempt: desecrate
2: to debase by a wrong, unworthy, or vulgar use
So profanity is language that shows disrespect for something sacred, such as the name of God. Not taking the Lord’s Name in vain is one of the Ten Commandments:
Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain (Exodus 20:7). Continue reading
Rick Warren has joined anti Israel activist Colin Chapman, heretical Emergent church guru Brian Maclaren, apostate positive thinking church marketing demagogue of the now bankrupt Chrystal Cathedral Robert Shuller, and Korean advocate of a hybred of Christinity and mystical Buddhism Yongee Cho as a signatory of the Yale Chrislam document identifying YHWH the God of Israel and the Judeo Christian scriptures with the ancient Nabaten moon god allah of Islam. In the past Moriel has reckoned Rob Bell to be just another of the false teachers deceiving the church that the Lord warned would arise in The Last Days. He has unfortunately since become what Steve Chalk is in the UK, an arch instrument of Satan in spiritually seducing Christian youth with his “pseudo hip pseudo theology”. This doctrinally ignorant figure is as dangerous as he is deluded.

Just ten days after Lighthouse Trails posted its last and most important article of 2010, Rick Warren’s “Apologetics” Weekend Should Apologize for Representing “Another Gospel,” we must issue this Special Report regarding a year-long event that will be kicking off at Rick Warren’s Saddleback Church on January 15th. When Jerusalem fell to the Greco-Syrian tyrant Antiochus Epiphanes it fell twice. The first time was a gradual assimilation into the Greek culture that was first introduced by Alexander the Great and whose precepts were inherited by his military successors throughout the remnant of that once great yet brief empire. The vision that Alexander had was to see the whole world transformed by a single language and culture; this in turn was the thrust of this madman cum megalomaniac whose political and military pressure turned the rulers of Jerusalemâs religious class upon themselves. The new Greek thought in the form of Hellenism was pitted against the traditions of Rabbinic Judaism and the new usurped the old with the result being the political and cultural domination of Greco-Syria. The Second Sin of King David
Is it a saga of shame, betrayal, and foolishness by those who should (and actually do) know better, or is it more a matter of biblical ignorance, a misplaced zeal, pandering to the pressures of theocratic politics, or convoluted loyalties, or a lack of wisdom from above?
There is no doubt that God’s PEACE plan is the redemptive and regenerative Gospel of Jesus alone; there is no true salvation in any other Name (Acts 4:12), nor any other true God but the God of Israel (Exodus 20:3, Jeremiah 10:10) and other gods are demons (1 Corinthians 10:20, Deuteronomy 32:17, Psalm 106:37). Nor is there any other true “PEACE” except through God’s peace plan based on the New Testament Gospel of salvation by grace and justification through faith (Luke 2:14, Romans 3:17, Romans 5:1, Ephesians 2:14, 2 Thessalonians 3:16, 1 Peter 5:14, 2 Peter 3:14).
Rick Warren however, has teamed up with Tony Blair to push Rick Warren’s own “Global ‘PEACE’ Plan” aligning governments, industries, and religions â all religions (including Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist and worshipers of other “gods” which Scripture identifies as demons) to inaugurate Warren’s peace plan contrary to God’s and omits the Gospel of Jesus as the only true “PEACE”. Over recent years there has been a steady build up of opposition to and outright rejection of what some term as âthe theoryâ of âpenal substitutionâ. Amongst the definitions for  âtheoryâ is one that reads â âa conjectural view or ideaâ. When it comes then to understanding what was happening on âthe cross of Christâ for the faithful Christian the doctrine of âpenal substitutionâ is not a matter of âconjectureâ but it is the factual and glorious heartbeat that sustains Godâs gift of âeternal lifeâ [Romans 6:23]. âPenal substitutionâ is a factual divine truth that leaps from the pages of the Bible and to deny otherwise is quite simply to set oneself up as an âenemy of the cross of Christâ. Ramadan is the Muslim holy month of fasting for spiritual renewal and purification. It commemorates the month during which Muslims believe Mohammed received the Quran through divine revelation, and it calls Muslims to self-control, sacrificial generosity and solidarity with the poor, diligent reading of the Quran, and intensified prayer. This week the Jerusalem Post identifies three of the most prominent evangelical critics of Israel as Jimmy Carter, Stephen Sizer and Brian McLaren. Whilst Carter is world famous, and I have discussed Sizer at length on this blog, Brian McLaren is less well-known. Continue reading

Recently, the President of the United States, George W. Bush, admitted that he did not take many parts of the Bible literally. For example, Bush doubted the Genesis account of Creation in favor of the disproven Theory of Evolution. President Bush reiterated his belief that all of the worldâs religions pray to the same God. This is all from a President who won the hearts of American evangelicals because he prayed a prayer to be âborn againâ with Billy Graham. President Bushâs statements are just the tip of the iceberg of the apostate condition of the âtheological Titanicâ which is called theâ Evangelical Church in America or what I refer to as the âNew Evangelical.â Continue reading

I was driving on the freeway of Los Angeles when I saw a car in front of me that said âUnity and Onenessâ and there were symbols from many of the worldâs religions, such as the star of David, the cross, the star and crescent moon and numerous other symbols. Obviously the owner of the car held to the hope that all of the worldâs religions will one day unite. This was the dream of the late Beatle John Lennon when he wrote his famous song âImagineâ and it is the dream of United Nations. This is the false hope of all those who do not know the true God of the Bible and His only begotten Son Jesus Christ. It reflects the âspirit of this ageâ and the great apostasy that the Apostle Paul=2 0talked about when he said, âLet no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away ( apostasy ) come first, and the man of sin is revealed the son of perdition.â Continue reading
Moriel and Jacob Prasch solidly support the position recently published by Chuck Smith, Senior Pastor of Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa, (Santa Anna) California distancing Calvary Chapel from the Emergent Church Movement which is in essence a hyper-ecumenical combination of Post Modernism and religious mysticism that rejects the propositional truth upon which the biblical Gospel is predicated. In what appears to be a sweeping phenomenon, Christian leaders are embracing practices and a new spirituality that borrows from Eastern mysticism and New Age philosophy. The changes are taking place worldwide and involve many of the most popular evangelical leaders including Rick Warren, Brian McLaren, Richard Foster, Tony Campolo, and Eugene Peterson.
