That Laidlaw College (formerly Bible College of New Zealand) has departed from its scripturally Evangelical origins into spiritual and doctrinal bankruptcy is a view I find widely held by many Scripture-believing Kiwi Evangelicals. Indeed, with its present senior lecturer Philip Church, I cannot help but make the case that its perceived abandonment of its heritage into the abject realm of compromise with increasing liberal theological influence is now being followed by an academic and ethical devaluation into non-comprehensive exegesis and revisionism with regard to the anti-Israel position of Mr. Church in his factually and doctrinally erroneous Christ at The Checkpoint article. What does the Word of God Actually Say About Midrash?
“Now the remainder of the deeds of of Abijah, and his ways and words are written in the ‘MIDRASH‘ [ מִדְרַ֖שׁ ] of the Prophet Iddo”. (2 Chronicles 13:22)
(Directly from the God-given text of original, divinely inspired Hebrew canon.)

Yes friends, it is a fact; it is there in Scripture. “MIDRASH” is plainly taught in the Word of God. Hi there,
In the April newsletter, The Plastic Bible, Jacob has asked a question. I suppose it is actually rhetorical, and he doesn’t really want an answer, but I’m going to give him one anyway. The question is: “Where does the King James justify using the word “Easter”?”
Although the Greek plainly says pascha, which we would normally translate Passover, the context indicates that that is not what is meant here. Acts 12:3 says, “…Then were the days of unleavened bread.” Passover is the 14th of Nisan. That’s a single day and night. Followed by 7 days of unleavened bread. If it was during the days of unleavened bread, clearly Passover had been and gone. Herod was by no means concerned about doing away with anyone on the Passover. Jesus was sacrificed at Passover. Furthermore he was a pagan. Obviously he didn’t want to mess up his own religious feast, the one which comes from Eostre, Ashtoreth, etc. Whether the AV translators substituted Passover for Easter with complete understanding, or as it were accidentally, doesn’t really matter. The hand of God was on them and they got it right. Easter, Herod’s pagan festival, is the one which should be named here. Continue reading »

I am sorry to trouble you with this question but hope you can help.
I am in the process of having to deal with a Ruckmanite who is causing real problems in a Church. I have pointed out to him a copyist error in the KJV and cannot come up with any other explanation than the fact that it is a copyist error that has crept into the translation. The 2 paralell passages in question are 2 Chronicles 22vs 2 & 2 Kings 8 vs 26.
2 Chronicles 22:2
” Forty and two years old was Ahaziah whn he began to reign and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Athaliah the daughter of Omri”
2 Kings 8:26
Two & Twenty Years old was Ahaziah when he began to reign: and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. And his mothers name was Athaliah, the daughter of Omri”
I have checked some other translations which suggest he was 22 on both counts. I have also read an attempt by a KJV nut to try an explain it and it was absolutely crazy. I know that the Individual in question will revert to M. Ruckman & Mr. Gipp personally on this issue and further more my knowledge in this area is clearly limited.
The Variorum has in its footnote that 2 Chronicles 22:2 should be 22 and not 42. The NIV & Darby Translation have it on both occasions at age 22.

It is with great regret that we announce the loss of our friend and brother Stewart Dool, director of Intercessors For Britain (IFB).
Stewart has gone home with Jesus to his reward after having been a solid voice for truth and righteousness in an age of decline both in contemporary society and the church. His battle with motor neuron disease has been cruel and while we rejoice his suffering temporal is ended and his blessings eternal have commenced, we express our deepest condolences in Jesus to his beloved wife Jenny and their children for whom we request prayer. We also request prayer for the future of the much needed ministry of IFB.
Until we are rejoined with him we shall always remember Stewart as a staunch friend of Israel and the Jews with a desire to sees Jewish souls reconciled to their Messiah. Stewart’s gain is indeed our loss.

A number of websites reacted unfavorably to an advertised conference scheduled to take place at the Calvary Chapel in Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA where Skip Heitzig is pastor. Moriel also posted these reports after being contacted by various Calvary Chapel pastors and people, mainly in the USA. Mr. Sweet is by no scriptural standard a Christian, but by every reasonable standard a New Age mystic and a pure Gnostic. I’m writing to ask for something to be clarified from an article which Jacob wrote and that was published in the Moriel Quarterly – December 2009, The Road to Emmaus.
On page 13 under the section for “The Corporate Solidarity of Simon Cyrene” it quotes Luke 23:26 and then the article goes on to ask, “Why did Jesus not carry His own cross?” and the response to the question was to allude that to do so would be an admission of guilt and He wasn’t guilty.
Can you explain to me, in the light of what has been said about Jesus not carrying His own cross, what the explanation for John 19:17 might be please?
Your explanation would appear correct in the light of Matt, Mark and Luke as they all seem to agree with it, and in my Bible there were no cross-references to say He did actually carry His cross, but John 19 seems to say quite clearly that He did. And if He did, how does this then affect the allusion that to do so, would be an admission of guilt?

About 10 years ago I was contacted by Vicky Dillen in Canada regarding my expertise of knowledge of the phony Christian right who are very involved in Dominionism/Reconstructionism, Sun Myung Moon, and the Scientologists. Vicky wanted some specific information. I was very willing to speak with her about whatever she asked. I even bought some books from her that she’d gotten from a house sale.
At any rate, during our conversation, I questioned her about her faith and I distinctly remember that she had no idea of the doctrines of different churches, including the rapture of the Church, Israel as the wife of Jehovah, replacement theology, or any of the false doctrines by many of the churches. I was absolutely astounded.
So it is with astonishment that this woman without any formal training and with a limited amount of biblical upbringing can attack as many as she seems to enjoy doing. I’ve actually seen Dr. Arnie Fruchtenbaum attacked because of the logo of Ariel Ministries. People are nuts!
Having just seen her attack on you, and having just listened to your teaching from Steve Babko’s Prophecy Conference, I thought I’d jot you a note and tell you what I knew. Actually Vicky Dillen is not even worthy of having you respond to any of her idiotic charges…ignore her, she’s not worth the time.

Is it a saga of shame, betrayal, and foolishness by those who should (and actually do) know better, or is it more a matter of biblical ignorance, a misplaced zeal, pandering to the pressures of theocratic politics, or convoluted loyalties, or a lack of wisdom from above?
There is no doubt that God’s PEACE plan is the redemptive and regenerative Gospel of Jesus alone; there is no true salvation in any other Name (Acts 4:12), nor any other true God but the God of Israel (Exodus 20:3, Jeremiah 10:10) and other gods are demons (1 Corinthians 10:20, Deuteronomy 32:17, Psalm 106:37). Nor is there any other true “PEACE” except through God’s peace plan based on the New Testament Gospel of salvation by grace and justification through faith (Luke 2:14, Romans 3:17, Romans 5:1, Ephesians 2:14, 2 Thessalonians 3:16, 1 Peter 5:14, 2 Peter 3:14).
Rick Warren however, has teamed up with Tony Blair to push Rick Warren’s own “Global ‘PEACE’ Plan” aligning governments, industries, and religions – all religions (including Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist and worshipers of other “gods” which Scripture identifies as demons) to inaugurate Warren’s peace plan contrary to God’s and omits the Gospel of Jesus as the only true “PEACE”. Warren’s “Purpose Driven Lie” is not built on biblical theology but on popular psychology which downplays sin.
