The recent shockwaves of public frustration, coming out of town hall meetings across the nation, have stunned both the media and elected representatives from both parties. It has become increasingly obvious that they don’t know what’s going on. The real problem is more than mere politics, and goes much deeper than the healthcare issue. The real problem is spiritual. “But there was a certain man called Simon… claiming that he was someone great, to whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying,”this man is the great power of God.” And they heeded him because he had astonished them with his sorceries for a long time.” Acts 8:9-11
Todd Bentley is great! If you don’t believe me just ask the multitudes who have been astonished by the “miraculous revival” in Lakeland Florida! Or just check out the Christian television show “Xtreme Prophetic” featuring Host Patricia King, which I saw on YouTube. Bentley was featured on the show as one of the new prophets of the younger generation. Patricia King the host spoke for many when she proclaimed Todd as an “awesome man of power who is a Seer’. She also announced that Todd has brought “a million people into the Kingdom of God in the last eight years”. Todd was guest on the show with his mentor, another great prophet – Bob Jones. His resume was equally impressive- King described Him as “a champion of the Seer realm”, and “one of the most accurate of prophets of our generation”, and she thanked him for being a “father of the faith”, as well as a seer-prophet. Why There Must Be Yet Another Mystical Revival
For there must be also heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you. (I Cor. 11:19)
If there wasn’t a false mystical revival, ala Lakeland, sooner or later someone would have to manufacture one. Likewise a Benny Hinn, Kenneth Copeland and flavor of the day, Todd Bentley. These people are not the authors of their respective heresies, (they are far
less innovative than they realize). They only embody them. They are the proponents of a false spirituality embraced by thousands of professing Christians around the world. They merely act out and express the false spirituality of their constituency, that is why no
matter how many times these spurious revivals are discredited, as soon as another one breaks out there is a ready made congregation to joyfully participate in them.
I am only echoing the prophet Jeremiah in His own day who lamented that:
The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests rule on their own authority; And My people love it so! But what will you do at the end of it? Continue reading »

If there has been one distinguishing characteristic of popular Charismatic, Pentecostal and even Evangelical Christianity in the closing years of this millennium, it has been the pursuit of the “New Thing” and the “Great End-Times Revival”, which in theory would sweep the world into the Kingdom and usher in the “greatest move of God ever seen” – greater even than in the book of Acts. Through the prophecies and teachings of Charismatic leaders, an expectation has developed of a Last-Days cutting-edge church which would move in such power and anointing that world leaders would search out the wisdom of its leaders, and whole nations would fall trembling at its feet.
