What we Once Knew… Thoughts on the Kindergarten Massacre

Posted on December 14, 2012
by Pastor Bill Randles

Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.  The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?  I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.(Jeremiah 17:7-10)

Why is it that an entire chapter of the Bible is dedicated to the story of Cain, the first recorded will worshipper and murderer? From the very beginning God wanted us to be aware of the consequences of the fall of man. We who were made “in the Image of God” are now fallen, our natures are corrupted, we now “know good and evil” but from the vantage point of evil. Continue reading

The Sons Of Amalek

March 15, 2011
by Bill Randles

And the LORD said unto Moses, Write this for a memorial in a book, and rehearse it in the ears of Joshua: for I will utterly put out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven. And Moses built an altar, and called the name of it Jehovahnissi:For he said, Because the LORD hath sworn that the LORD will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.(Exodus 17:14-16) Continue reading

How They Deny Jesus…

February 6, 2011
Pastor Bill Randles

This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.(2 Timothy 3:1-5)

There is a frightening phenomenon that I have observed lately. I have been seeing the unhappy spectacle of young people, between their teens and early thirties, reared in the evangelical subculture, yet  denying Christ. Continue reading

Beware The New Atheists

Did you know that the English-speaking world is in the midst of an Atheistic revival? It is fueled by a small but widely celebrated group of authors and thinkers who call themselves “the Brights”, and who lecture, debate and write best-selling books which have a wide following among young college and University students. A Wild Ass of a Man

by Pastor Bill Randles
August 23, 2010

The Ground Zero Mosque controversy has many dimensions to it. For example there are political aspects involved, and of course religious tensions have emerged as well. The divide between left and right in this country has been exposed by it also. Finally, the rift between our own “ruling elite” and the rest of the country has been highlighted through this conflict. What the Kings of the earth have done…Psalm 2

by Bill Randles
Posted on August 24, 2010

Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.(Psalm 2:1-2)

Watching the way President Obama, Mayor Bloomberg and other assorted Religious , media and political leaders took their stand with those seeking to install a Mosque on the site of the worst mass murder of American citizens in history, has been instructive. Continue reading

Glenn Beck is a Mormon

by Bill Randles
August 27, 2010

Glenn Beck is a great communicator, he is very bold, and is saying many true things that few have the courage to say. I would agree with much  of his critique of the progressive left and their systematic destruction of our institutions. I also happen to think that reviving the memory and legacy of the founding Fathers is timely. Continue reading

Psalm 83

The Soon Coming Fate of Israel’s Near Neighbors

By Pastor Bill Randles

Keep not Thou silence O God; hold not thy peace, and be not still, O God. For lo, thine enemies make a tumult; and they that hate Thee have lifted up the head. They have taken crafty counsel against Thy people, and consulted against Thy hidden ones. They have said, Come let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may no more be of remembrance. For they have consulted together with one consent; they are confederate against Thee: The tabernacles of Edom, and the Ishmaelites of Moab, and the Hagarenes; Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek, the Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre; Assur also is joined with them, they have helped the children of Lot…(Psalm 83:1-8) Continue reading

Psalm 83 Part 2

Why Do They Make Such a Tumult?

By Pastor Bill Randles

In our previous article, we looked at the question of the “who” of Psalm 83. Who are these nations who make a tumult against the people of God, taking counsel together to “cut them off from being a nation, that the nation of Israel be remembered no more”? The modern day names for this confederacy are those nations which surround the present day state of Israel – Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, the Gaza Strip, Palestinians, and some from Iraq also “have helped the children of Lot”. Psalm 83 Part 3

What the Answer Will Look Like

By Pastor Bill Randles

“ Deal with them as you did with Midian, with Sisera, with Jabin, at the brook Kishon-who were destroyed at Endor, who became dung for the field. Treat their great men like Oreb and Zeev, all their princes like Zeba and Zalmuna…cover their faces with shame so that they may seek Your name, O Lord.” (Psalm 83:10-14) Continue reading

The Capture of the Ark

God as a P.O.W?

By:  Pastor Bill Randles
May 17, 2010

I believe that there is so much more to the so-called Bible stories than most Christians realize. Too often they are just relegated to children’s Sunday school felt board stories, or attempts are made to derive morality lessons from them. Jesus and the apostles treated these stories in a far more serious vein – Adam, Eve, Lot and Noah were used to teach the Gospel and especially to reveal eschatology, which is the teaching on “the end”.  As Jesus said, “As in the days of Noah, so shall be the day of the coming of the son of man…” Continue reading

The Future History of Israel

By: Pastor Bill Randles
May 18, 2010

Bible stories, as we noted earlier, are so much more than mere morality lessons. They preach the Gospel, reveal Christ and as we will point out in this instance, they contain eschatology.

The story of the capture of the Ark of God in I Samuel 4-6 is an amazing example of this. These three chapters are narratives of actual events in history. The Israelites really did try to throw off the Philistines, using the Ark of God as a talisman, and losing it in battle. The Philistines truly played hot potato with the Ark, after they “captured it”, passing it from city to city among the five lords of the Philistines. All of this happened. Continue reading

The Future History of the Gentiles

I Samuel 5

By Pastor Bill Randles
May 21, 2010

The story of the capture of the Ark of God contains not only history, as we have seen, but also the Gospel and Eschatology. We pointed out in our last article that the future history of Israel was outlined in the double defeats by the Philistines and the loss of the Ark.

The first defeat, in which 4000 Israelites were killed in battle, corresponds to the Babylonian captivity and the destruction of Solomon’s temple. It was devastating, but Israel did return from captivity and the temple was rebuilt after more than 70 years. Continue reading

Hemorrhoids and Mice

Hemorrhoids and Mice

By Pastor Bill Randles
May 25, 2010

Now the hand of the Lord was heavy on the Ashdodites and He destroyed them and smote them with emerods, both Ashdod and its territories. (I Samuel 5:6)

Then the Lord awaked as one out of sleep and like a mighty man that shouteth by reason of wine. And He smote His enemies in the hinder parts, and put them to a perpetual reproach. (Psalm 78:65-66) Continue reading
